I’ve been introduced to a lot of new things as a result of joining a CSA, but I can honestly say that last week was the first time I received something that I initially mistook for a houseplant. Verdolagas, also called Purslane, are a succulent, and loaded with omega-3 fatty acids. They also have a marvelous, tart flavor that goes quite well with pork. more

I have lots to write about. I’ve had many food adventures over these many months. Time is of the essence though. I’d say it’s spring, but Solstice was three days ago! Typically we’re knee-deep in melons and blackberries; but the weather’s been weird this year (darn volcanoes) and we still have beautiful strawberries and cherries… more
