Game hens are tasty, less-gamey single serving fouls. This makes them perfect for holiday dinner for two since there aren’t weeks of tryptophan laced leftovers to work through. They cook quickly, easily, and with very little coercion. I like their slightly tart flavor better than turkey anyday, this also leaves more room to have fun seasoning them. The only down side is, there is no polite way eat this little guys. It is a very caveman experience, but probably not on the list of things you should cook on a first date or dinner with the in laws. more

Just look at them. Taunting me with their almost-crimson, nearly-ripe flesh. I want to eat them so badly, but they are just not ready. I can wait another few days, but in the meantime, I’m plotting the best way to bring forth their wondrous deliciousness. more
